If you’ve ever been involved in an accident where the at fault driver was perfectly willing to lie about what happened, you know how tedious the entire process of getting your vehicle fixed can be. One of the only things you can hope for in these situations is often a witness, but people who witness the accident don’t always step forward. That means it can be very handy to have a camera inside your car.
Sceptre has announced new dash camera called the Carcam CCR2000. The camera is designed specifically to provide evidence of any accidents or other activity that occurs on the road in front of your vehicle. The camera is designed to provide automatic and continuous recording of audio and video. The camera is also designed to start recording automatically once the vehicle is parked if it is struck by another car. The camera has a 120-degree wide-angle lens providing a wide field of view. It also has an integrated G-sensor that allows the camera to be able to record a collision and automatically lock the current video prevent accidental erasure to hold for evidence. When the camera detects a collision has occurred, it automatically starts recording video. Video is recorded to an included 8 GB SD memory card. Power for the camera comes from an internal lithium-ion battery providing up to 50 min. of recording. The camera also has an integrated HDMI output to support direct connectivity TVs and an integrated microphone. Sceptre also builds in video stabilization to make video clearer. The camera is available to purchase right now online for $399. [via Sceptre] Sceptre unveils new Carcam CCR2000 for drivers is written by Shane McGlaun .
